My name is Helena Mae Woodruff, but you can call me Lany Mae, as my friends do!
I am a native Minnesotan who has become a proud Vermonter. I traded a stressful career as a marketing director for something far more enjoyable and fulfilling: connecting travelers with memorable experiences in a place I love.
Lany Mae's Getaways was born from my passion for both real estate and travel.
It all started with a modest duplex featuring a million-dollar view of Elmore Mountain. As guests began to book the property in droves, I quickly realized that travelers are eager for good value—affordable lodging in spectacular settings, conveniently located near epic outdoor activities, dining, and more.
My offerings have now expanded to include a luxury home in the heart of Stowe and a condo that emphasizes convenience to the mountain.
Whether you are looking for a budget stay or a luxury getaway, I maintain the same attention to detail and commitment to value.
When you check into one of my Getaways, your visit will begin with a personal touch. Each property is fully stocked with essential supplies, so you won’t have to worry about shopping for them. I am also available 24/7 to answer questions or provide recommendations before or during your stay.
My journey in Elmore and Stowe has grown into more than just hosting. In addition to maintaining my Airbnb Superhost status, I am also a licensed Realtor and a marketing consultant for other property owners. I advocate for short-term rental owners by serving on the board of the Vermont Short Term Rental Alliance.
